Swiftwater Rescue/Wilderness First Aid
If your work or play takes you into a moving water environment, when this training is a must. We’ve combined Swiftwater Rescue Technician Level 1 and Wilderness First Aid to give you a week of hands-on experience. The week starts with classroom-based study, then as your skill set grows we head out to the river where theory is put to practice. Learn to Canoe
Beginner. If you’ve been dreaming about skimming effortlessly across the surface of a wilderness lake, but haven’t paddled before, this is the program for you! Join us for a week of instruction and exploration as we travel to different lakes around the beautiful Bulkley Valley while learning the skills to give you full control of your boat. By the end to the week you’ll be able to move your boat forward, backward, sideways, and diagonally from any position in your boat, both tandem and solo! Canoeing Moving Water
Intermediate. Five days of learning and playing on the river! If you have a lakewater canoeing background and are yearning to try out some water that’s moving - this is just what you are looking for. Learn how to use the current to make that canoe go where you want it to. And while you learn - check out some of the great Bulkley Valley Rivers. Canoe Trip Leader Program
Intermediate and Advanced. If you’re interested in working in the canoeing field, or if you just want to gain the skills and confidence to lead your own trips, this hands on, forty five day program, is the course for you! We’ll cover safety including Wilderness First Aid and Swift Water Rescue, canoeing skills from Lakewater, to Movingwater, to Tripping. Other aspects such as leadership, trip planning, and risk management will be covered in the real world, with the program culminating with a wilderness canoe trip lead by you! canoe trip leader course details >
Introduction to Kayaking
Beginner. Kayak touring is the fastest growing sector of paddlesports. Learn how to paddle safely and efficiently while checking out the beautiful lakes of north central British Columbia. We’ll cover rescues, both of yourself and others, and all the strokes and manoeuvres that will have you gliding along in no time. Introduction to Whitewater Kayaking
