Paddling Tours
Our canoeing programs are led by Northern Sun Tours, a company owned and operated by Roger McColm and Gladys Atrill. For 20 years, they have been offering world-class wilderness experiences through outdoor education and guided trips. Roger is a Master Instructor with the Recreational Canoeing Association of BC and is an instructor in all the modalities--Lakewater, Movingwater, Canoe Tripping, Poling and Ocean Canoeing. Gladys is a Master Instructor with the Recreational Canoeing Association of BC and has been paddling and instructing since 1981.
Whitewater Kayak Touring
Intermediate. Come and paddle some of the great whitewater that the Bulkley Valley has to offer! Pick up some tips on paddling from our expert guides and leaders while exploring the beautiful local rivers, from Class 2 – 4 there’s something to appeal to everyone. whitewater kayak tour details >
Canoe Touring
Intermediate. The focus of this week is to explore some of the many waterways of the Smithers area by canoe. We’ll have plenty of time for wildlife viewing, bird watching, and just plain old relaxing! Fall Colours of the Bulkley Valley

Levels of Difficulty:
Beginner: First time paddling
Intermediate: Comfortable in handling a boat in moving water
Advanced: Capable of paddling Grade 3 water
