Canyon Creek House

Canyon Creek House sits on one-half section (approx 320 acres) of property immediately alongside the Burnt Cabin Ecological Reserve just outside Smithers, British Columbia. The property can be reached from the Smithers airport in approximately 25 minutes.

We are surrounded by mountains on all sides. The Burnt Cabin reserve is a botanist’s dream of rare plants. It is also a wildlife haven since it lies in the middle of winter moose range and in all seasons serves as a magnet for the area’s fauna. The boundary to the Babine Mountains Provincial Park lies about 3 km / 2 miles from the property.

Canyon Creek House has 5 bedrooms and can comfortably sleep up to 10 . It also contains a large dining room and sitting area with a dramatic view of the Hudson Bay range.

The kitchen is fully equipped and can easily accommodate groups of 10-20. There are 2 full bathrooms, plus a half-bath and a large common shower area.

The property also contains a classroom building that has been designed as an instructional or lecture area. It is fully winterized and heated and can easily fit up to 20 people.

RATES Summer 2006--Spring 2007

Our basic rental rate is $1,000.00 (CAD) per week (Sun. eve.-Sat. noon), plus GST. (currency converter.) There is also a $500 security deposit.

For this amount you will have full use of the Canyon Creek House, which is a 5 bedroom building with 2.5 private bathrooms plus a multi-stall shower room. The bedrooms contain at your option either two twin beds or a king. Canyon Creek House also has a large, fully equipped kitchen. The dining room/common area can readily accommodate 15 and comes with a magnificent mountain view. All linens, cooking equipment and utensils are supplied.

The rental will also cover use of the immediately adjacent classroom building which is winterized and heated by a wood stove.

Fully catered accommodations are available upon request. In addition, if you are looking for a guided trip or instructional course, please contact us and we will be happy to help you to arrange for those services. The costs of these extra services depend on the size of the group and the nature of the activity. Also, please contact us for rates and availability for use of the facilities for rentals of a duration other than on a weekly basis.
